Here's How it Works
1. Initial Appointment
During the initial appointment, we will sit down and talk about your concerns, complaints, current and past history, and any other relevant information. We'll perform a comprehensive physical exam to determine the specific cause of your symptoms. Then we'll get started with the best course of treatment specific to you.
2. Your Homework
On your second visit, you will receive a mixture of stretches and exercises that are tailored to your particular condition. These are important to supplement your care and help retrain your body.
3. Preventing Re-Injury
Pain is the last symptom to show up and the first to go away. The goal of treatment is to retrain your brain and body so injury does not occur again. Once you're feeling better, it is important to continue with care on a maintenance basis. Typically this means coming in once every 6-8 weeks.
Dr. Runyan views each person as a puzzle. Her priority is to listen, inform, and involve you in your care every step of the way. By staying up-to-date on the most current scientific research she is able to create the best treatment plan specific to your condition.
With that being said, no two people will get the same treatment every single visit. She will sit down with you at the beginning of each visit to touch base on how you felt and functioned since your last visit. Her goal is to get you as healthy as possible as quickly as possible, and that requires valuable feedback from you!
